Finally, I think that ya'll will be totally caught up after this. Today Dad went and got them breakfast in the lobby again. Then he packed up the van and off we went towards our next hotel.
Along the way, we stopped at this place that Mom called a rest stop. I didn't see much resting going on. Mom walked me around so that I could go potty, but otherwise it looked to me like people were just walking around in and out of their cars to this building. How exactly does that constitute resting? I sure wasn't resting. There were so many smells it was like sensory overload. I think Mom said my eyes glazed over from shear happiness to get out of the van.
Later on we stopped at McDonald's for lunch. At least they let me go in this time even though I still didn't get anything to eat. Oh but when we finally did get to the hotel in some place called Medford, OR, I got to have one of the apples that Aunt Liz and Grandma Blanche had brought to me back in Portland.
Mom and Dad are kind of tired so they haven't taken any pictures today, but they are happy that the beds are good here. We have a magic bed, but we don't have to use it. I'll bet they take one before we leave the hotel tomorrow. If so, I'll put it up here for ya'll to see. Mom says it's sleepy time so goodnight to all of you following my blog. I must say though that for a puppy who has so many people reading about his adventure, there is a strong lack of comments for all my effort to blog this. Do you even realize how hard it is to type with paws?
This is the picture that Dad took before we left the hotel in Medford. The flowers were pretty, but boy was that pavement hot!! Dad had to take that picture quick, and I was distracted as you can tell.

Poor Apollo! I guess rest stops are a bit confusing to one who can do nothing but rest while on the road. But let me give you a hint or two... 1) Humans have to go to the bathroom a lot more often than dogs (Remember that building everyone kept going in and out of?) and 2) Drivers get tired of trying to fend off all the other stupid drivers out there on the roads, and they get tired of sitting for long periods; therefore, resting (to them) is getting to move about and getting a little exercise (Sounds kind of backwards doesn't it? Yeah, I know. Humans just defy understanding!)
ReplyDeleteApollo I am happily reading of your adventures on the road to Florida. I may not comment much but your Auntie Cheryl is loving every minute your paws have to type. Do you remember the book I made for your and your Momma with all the pictures of you? I am going to make another one that shows your trip across the country to Florida. So keep your paws in good shape for typing so I can put all this stuff into the new book. I love you very much and tell your Daddy to give you a new toy in Texas!
ReplyDeleteDad says there isn't any more room in the car for another toy. He claims the car might fall flat to the ground with anything else added.
ReplyDeleteI guess you need to have your nails cut...you meant to say the pavement was hot right and not payment...i bet you had to pick up the tab for the hotel sweetie. Thats okay you will be happy to have a pool in your back yard to jump into when you get to Florida.
ReplyDeleteYep that's what I meant to say. I fixed it...thanks for making sure my words are right. Translating all this from doggie talk to human talk isn't always easy.
